19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former coach Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after that period of the previous year.
The win also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five points to go ahead.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional victory, gained dominance to create a third set.
The opponent saved 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
